Oh, what do you do in the summer time????

The Griner boys...
 Play on construction equipment

Fall into slimy gross storm water ponds

Clean the inch of mud off their shoes in puddles

And when the puddle doesn't work....

Soccer

I am officially a SOCCER MOM!!!!  We were so excited to sign Jamis up for the YMCA indoor soccer team.  He was so ecstatic to get a new soccer jersey and soccer socks.  I died laughing every time he put them on.  He got the extra small and he still was swimming in them.  Here is picks of his first game.
The first few minutes of every game they have practice.  Jamis was all about it.

 Kicking hard
 Running fast
 Getting the ball just right

The determination and concentration was written all over his face.
So excited to really be playing soccer
Little brother on the sidelines cheering him on
 His first team huddle

The whistle blows and this is Jamis "playing" his first soccer game.
At least he has the ball here
Woot Woot!  He is actually on his feet, but where are his hands????
Making snow angels.  Well maybe it was his super sneaky way of blocking the goal.
Every game of the season was exactly like this.  I don't think he kicked the ball once or was ever "in" the game.  So funny though.  We all had a blast and he loved being on a team and getting a snack after the game.  At least he got his soccer jersey!

Sweet Florida Haven

The beauties of a husband who loves doing medical research is the vacations.  Anytime Devan gets a research project accepted to a conference his program will pay his way so he can go down and present it.  For me this means a very cheap vacation.  I don't always get to tag along, but this time I did.  FIVE glorious kid free days on the beaches of Florida.  Devan and I were able to run on the beach (what a workout that is), eat at fun places, suntan, and do absolutely nothing together.  The highlight of the trip for me was actually when we ran into Target to buy a few essentials before making our way to our hotel.  We ended up scanning the clearance racks and spent time trying on outfits that the other picked out for us.  Sounds stupid, but it was a blast (and I ended up with some really cute new things)!
While Devan was doing this.....
 I was laying out here...
Beautiful sunset along the coast way
Ok, Ok, It took me about a day to miss my kids more than anything and to have a pretty sore butt from all the sitting....but I still savored every minute.  It was the first time Jax had been left without Devan or I and he actually did very well.  So glad to get back to my little sweet monsters.

Battlefield Bike Ride

One of my favorite things to do is ride bike and the only thing that tops that, is riding bike with my boys.

Chickamauga Battlefield is full of surprises for little boys.

Father's & Son's Campout 2012

Jamis enjoyed his first Father's & Son's campout and loved EVERY second!!!
The tent is always a hit.

Everytime Jamis goes camping he always says that sleeping in the tent was the best part of the whole trip.
 Breakfast time.

 Peeing anywhere he wants
