Aunt Downi Came for a Visit

We were so lucky to have Devan's sister Downi come for a visit last week and meet Jamis for the first time. We had so much fun catching up and playing. Lots of beach time, shopping, and even a trip to Asheville for some hiking.

A Royal chariot for our little Prince.

And this is how I got Giardia.

Jamis thinks he knows how to walk all by himself. He won't sit down and even pushes your hands away. Mr. Independent.

Born to live in the outdoors.

FEED ME!!! All this mountain playing makes me hungry.

Stuff it in there.

I love waterfalls.

Summer Fun

Summer would not be summer without lots of water and Jamis has caught on to that rather quickly. We spend most of the day at either the pool or the beach. At first Jamis didn't know what to think of his new baby pool.

That didn't last long though.

Splashing is just the best thing EVER!!! So much energy and determination.

The pool may be fun, but nothing is better than the beach. Jamis loves standing in the waves and most of all eating the sand. Daddy has even begun the surf lessons.

Month 7 was a special time for Jamis. He went to his first fireworks show and didn't even get scared.
On Sunday July 5, we were able to bless him at church. I was so proud of him. He wasn't quite sure what to think of all those men standing around him or what the microphone was all about, but he did so good. He was given his name and blessed to have a long and healthy life, to serve his Heavenly Father, and to continue to be a healer of broken hearts. What a prized moment for Devan and I. After church we had a reception at our house with all our neighbors and friends and way too much food. What a handsome little devil.

7 months has also been the age of independence. Jamis has perfected the art of the army crawl. We're working on getting those legs going, but I'm not sure how ready I am for him to be so mobile. He is also under the illusion that he doesn't have to take naps or go to bed at all really. I have finally learned what a sleep deprived motherhood is all about. Sleep moments are now picture worthy moments.

It has also been the month for major teething. We currently have 4 teeth (the front bottom 2 and his 2 incisors) and 2 more are visible (his two front teeth). I'm hoping that his two front teeth don't come in until after Halloween because he is the perfect vampire right now. Soooo cute.
