March Maddness

The time is flying by and once again another month has left us.  March Maddness in Pics

Jax is growing up so fast.

A tornado came through town and was pretty destructive.  Devan took the YM out and helped with the clean up.

Sooo Sad.

Devan loves bring little treats home from work for the boys and of course the boys love it too.  This is Jax's first Oreo.

I think he enjoyed it

Once a year Brusters Ice Cream holds a "PJ day."  You wear your PJs to the store and they give you a free waffle cone.  This momma isn't one to pass up something free, escpecially when its ice cream.  Jamis was in heaven.

Jax got an baby cone, but was SO thrilled to finally have his very own ice cream cone.

The other day I hear a lot of talking in the living room.  I go in and there is Jamis.  Louging and and having a full on conversation with Grandma.  It was so cute we had to call her for real.

I guess Jamis is just in a copying phase because he has been looking like this a lot lately.

Summer weather has hit already so we've been spending a lot of time at the park and walking over to Brusters for their free baby cones.

Coolige Park

Some of you might not be aware, but I live with a budding Inventor.  Devan has been working really hard on one of his inventions lately and has roped Alex Mitchell into helping him.

The patent is still in the works, so I can't say much, but if all goes right, he is going to make many mothers lives so much easier with this brilliant bottle design.....oh, I've said too much already.

Of course he can't do anything seriously.  He said he has to get into the role to really add the final touchs.

Zoo

A beatiful day calls for time outside and no better place to take my little animals than the ZOO.
Jamis and Jax both loved petting the goats.
Hailey Mann was a little more timid.
Jax is so loving and has to kiss everyone and everything he sees.

I love that the zoo is a block away from the hospital, so Daddy was able to join us in between cases.

Feburary Adventures

Feburary in Pictures
The boys love riding around the neighborhood.

Jamis has memorized how to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the piano (in about 2 mins I might add).
Devan gave me 12 beautiful roses on Valentine AND watched The Notebook with me (took 7 years for him to cave on that one).

Jamis and I have been doing lots of science experiments while Jax naps.
#1:  Vinegar and Baking Soda Volcano

WoW!!!  He was amazed over and over again.
#2:  Oil, Water, and Food Coloring Fireworks.
This was one was by far his favorite
 #3:  Homemade finger paints
No better place to finger paint than the bathtub walls.
 It got messy fast

After about an hour he realized that he was messy too (this child doesn't do messy well at all, expecially he its on his favorite Lightning McQueen undies)
Nothing a little nudity doesn't fix though
Note to self and any other mom wanting to learn from my mistakes.  Homemade finger paints in the bathtub would be great if you don't make the paint out of FLOUR.  It dried very quickly, wouldn't come off the walls, and then once it came off it was like kneeding bread in the tub.  My poor poor drain.
Jax is such a comfort creature.  Loves louging and watching a little cartoon action while breakfast is cooking.

ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!

I totally forgot to post this and its one of those things I NEVER want to forget.  So about a month ago I was laying down with Jamis in his bed trying to get him to take a nap.  As I am laying there I look over at the wall his bed is against and notice all these spots.  I think for awhile of what the heck is all over his wall.  Puzzled I ask him.  Very matter of factly he answers, "boogies."  WHAT!!!!  My son has a booger wall!!!!  SOooOOO GROSSS!!!  I guess when your laying in bed its the best place to place your "treasure."
What makes the story even better, when Devan came home I of course had to show him his sons handy work.  He wasn't shocked at all that a little boy would do such a thing.  I guess his older brother had a booger corner growing up.  If Devan or any of the other siblings made Derik mad, he would stick their heads in the corner of his bed, aka the booger corner, until they submitted to his will.  UGGGG!!!

I need a GIRL!!!!

New Tricks everyday

Jax is at such a fun age right now.  Everyday he learns something new.  He is into EVERYTHING these days too.  This week he has learned how to help me with the dishes.
He has also learned that pulling the dishwasher door down and standing on it, allows him to reach things on the counter.
He has also learned to play peek-a-boo

 "Are you still playing"
 "BOO"
He has learned what fun playing playdoh is with your big brother.

And of course he learned what playdoh and all the playdoh tools taste like.
Jamis is really enjoying having a playmate.  They are so cute together.  I love listening to them 'talk' to each other at night.

On Tuesday the 8th he took his first step.  Every night Devan and I give him "walking lessons," something Jax has never been a fan of.  As soon as he realizes what we are doing, he refuses to let his feet touch the ground.  Well he let his guard down once as we were passing him between us and he actually took a few steps unassisted.  He hasn't done it since, but we're still practicing.  A little more confidence and he'll be off and running.

He is also saying "momma momma."  Devan isn't convinced that its purposeful, but I am.  About every 2 mins during the day we'll crawl up to me saying, "momma momma" or he'll say it if I walk by him and he really doesn't say it any other time.  Its totally purposeful!!!
Oh, we sure love this kid.
