Halloween 2012

Halloween this year was the best EVER!  Early on in the month Jamis began noticing the Halloween decorations at the store and around the neighborhood and begged to make our house SPOOKY. How could I resist.

Our Monster Door.  Took Jax a few days to actually walk through the door without whimpering.
Our trash bag ghosts we had outside.

The boys did several spooky art projects
My favorite was all the spider webs through out the house.  Every time Jax would see one he would screech and yell "pider".  He loved it.

For Family night we carved our pumpkins.  This was the first year (sad but true) the we had done this with the boys.  They were a little confused at first but had a great time.
Jax wasn't timid at all and dug right in.
Jamis took a little bit of prodding.  He thought the insides were " really gross"
So proud of his one and only scoop.

 Jamis's super scary face

Jamis designed his own pumpkin all by himself.
Jax loving up on momma

Devan really gets into carving.  When he was finished with his master piece I complemented the fine details he carved and the turd said "well I am a plastic surgeon you know."  Favorite moment of the entire night.

Tuesday was our ward Trunk or Treat.  Jamis choose to be a fireman this year (he was one last year but my gentle persuasions to choose something different failed).
 Such big muscles

Lucky for Jax he doesn't get to choose and has to wear whatever Momma wants him to.

He quickly realized how AWESOME his Umpa Lumpa costume was.

My boys all ready to get some candy

Baby G #3 didn't want to be left out of the candy nabbing.

The second we walked in the door the boys were shoving candy in their mouths.  Jamis didn't miss a beat this year and was wanting to run for car to car.  Jax made everyone laugh the entire time.  For the last two weeks he has been carrying around his green pumpkin bucket everywhere.  He would put odds and ends in it and thought it was just a great bucket.  Well when someone put candy in it at our first stop he just about jumped over the moon.  I've never seen him so happy before.  From that point on he knew exactly what was going on and didn't miss a beat.  He had a little different approach than Jamis though.  Instead of rushing off to the next car, he would stay put and just keep saying "please....please."  Of course no one could resist and he ended up getting a TON of candy.  What a little turd.
Jamis likes candy put could really take or leave it.  Jax on the other hand can't get enough of it.  I think we might be in trouble.

I doubt any holiday will be quite this amazing for Jaxon.

Yep, they were up all night .....

Wednesday was the official Halloween Trick or Treat Day.  We had Ike and Emme over for dinner but unfortunately Daddy was on call and missed out on all the nights adventures.

Jaxon used his same techniques out trick or treating as he did at the trunk or treat and what do you know...they still worked.  His bucket was so heavy from the handful of houses we went to that he couldn't even carry it, but you better believe no one else was coming close to that bucket.

What a time....

Labor Day Weekend

For our Anniversary weekend celebration we loaded everyone up and headed to our favorite NC town of Brevard.  It was fun taking Matthew to all our favorite places.  We stayed at our usually campground on Cascade Lake and of course had to take our yearly canoe trip up to Hooker Falls.
The boys loves paddling the boats

Luckily we remained ticket free this year.
Jax was a little hesitant about the falls

Well lets be honest...Jax is a little hesitant about life in general.

Devan and Matt took a ride behind the falls.

The water was crisp but nice

The boys really loved camping this go around.  The favorite thing though was playing with the water container.
Check out the junk in Jax's trunk.  Have to love swimming in a regular diaper.

Our big hike for the weekend was up to Bridal Veil falls.  Unfortunately right before we got their a monsoon hit.  We were all sopping wet and freezing.  Luckily we were able to find shelter under at a horse barn until the storm past.

Our favorite family picture spot

We had a dry hike back but the boys were done.

Devan gave Jamis his hat so the rain drops falling from the leaves wouldn't hit him.  Jamis was so sweet to make a little "tent" over Daddy's head to protect him from the rain too.
What a sweetheart!

Another great Brevard weekend.  We were able to enjoy the mountains, sliding rock, fun downtown shops, and our favorite Asian Buffet.  I love how this little town has become a family tradition.  Our first trip here was with a dog and now we are adding our third baby boy to the vacation.  Amazing!
