August Roundup

The boys love eating at their little table everyday

The best part of our new house is having a back deck for the boys to play on.  They can go outside whenever they want to now (I put a baby gate up so we have no escapies).

My handsome boys all ready for church.
What a ham

Jamis the Rock Climber

For Family night we went rock climbing with the Gurlies.  Jamis never misses out on an adventure and was up for what Daddy had in store for him.

Up and Up he went, giggling the entire time....that is until he got to the top.  Not thinking he would actually climb to the first ledge we didn't have anyone up there waiting for him.  Well he made it and was not impressed to be left alone up there with nothing but a bush covered in spider webs.  Daddy climbed up quickly though and helped him repel down.

On solid ground again.
Jax was nervous for him but....
was very happy to see him on the ground again.

Building with Dad

Lately mom has really taken a back seat in the eyes of the little men in the Griner house and Dad has taken over.  Nothing and no one is better than Dad....well except for building firetrucks with Dad that is.

Signal Mountain Surprises

In order to plan an awesome date, we had to go scope out a few of the local waterfalls with Matt.
The boys were not afraid of the cliff edge. Definitely their fathers sons.

Rocks, sticks, and water.  Does it really get any better?

Now before you think we are terrible parents...these things happen.  And if you aren't close enough to stop them in time you might as well do the next best thing; document them.

Jax is our little social bug.

Nothing is better after a long hike than a nap with all your best buddies.

13.1 miles of Awesomeness

Can I just tell you how much my hubby rocks.  Even though he has never had a love of running he trained for and COMPLETED a half marathon.  Despite his crazy long work hours he would get up extra early in the AM or go out after we had all gone to bed just to be sure to not miss a training run.  So crazy proud of my runner man.
Chilling out before the race.
The kids loved all the pre race activities.  Jamis is so proud of his toolbox he made all by himself.

Matt, my cousin, came to live with us for the summer and decided last minute to join in.
Get ready boys!!!

This was the Inaugural Run of the Roswell, GA Alien Half Marathon.
And they are OFF.....
Here comes Matt
Go Matt Go!!!!

Here comes Devan!!!!
He gave each of us a sweaty hug and was off again.
Still strong at the half way mark

Look at those Medals!!!!
So incredibly proud of the two of them.
